A scientific lecture on (Anemia) was held at the theater of the College of Medical Technology in Rayayna. The lecture was given by the students: Marwa Abu Bakr Al-Shawish, Sujoud Muhammad Abd Al-Ali, and Nawal Muhammad Al-Ghanay, under the supervision of Professor: Adel Abu Bakr. This is part of the scientific activities organized by the college in cooperation with the Student Union, in which he explained that anemia is a disease characterized by the lack of a sufficient amount of red blood cells (low hemoglobin) to transport a sufficient amount of oxygen to the tissues and organs of the body, indicating that the lecture included a statement of the most important causes of this disease, which occur as a result of (blood loss, hemolysis, decreased production of red blood cells) or due to physiological anemia, which the body usually repairs the defect and heals physiological anemia without any treatment. As for the symptoms of anemia, the most important are weakness and fatigue, irritation, pale skin color, the color of the nails and the lining of the eyelids tending to white instead of pink, in addition to jaundice in children with red blood cell destruction, which is yellowing of the skin or eyes. As for the methods of diagnosing this disease, it is through laboratory tests. The lecture program included the distribution of educational brochures, and the lecture was a great success thanks to the active attendance and distinguished participation.
